The Reality activists Dialogue
Daniel and I come from different places so we are exploring through dialogue where it is we meet. It is also our intention to act upon whatever emerges from our conversations and the involvement of those who are attracted to our exploration.
One of the potential activities of the reality activists is to make a short film or series of short films.
As already mentioned one of the inspirations behind this project is the book ‘The Pirates Dilemma’ by Matt Mason, one of the main themes of the book is the remix. In particular how youth culture and/or those outside of the mainstream economic system organically utilize elements of culture in a spirit of DIY art or media and create a new genre, meme and movement. The benevolent anarchic pirating of popular ideas, music, film or any other medium eventually evolves from the underground onto the centre stage of culture and in so doing catalyzes an evolutionary step forward that benefits society. The spirit of the remix pirate although originating from counter culture creates new culture.
The aspect that particular inspires me is how we can utilize creativity in a fun and irreverent manner to expand consciousness within society, to create a more democratic abundance in alignment with the evolutionary impulse.
The Enchantments of Life model pasted below on this blog gives you a brief introductory overview to the direction of the evolutionary impulse. The evolutionary impulse can be said to be the life force which is the will of the species. So what is the will of the human species?
The human collective will has two primary aspects, firstly survival and secondly growth or evolution. These interconnected twin impulses in effect do battle, they are in a constant state of conflict which is essentially a dynamic creativity.
The survival instinct gives rise to securing, stabilizing, ordering and maintaining, whereas the evolutionary aspect gives rise to the urge to break free from limiting structures to create new expansive complex unity-new unifies complex collectives that we belong to. This means larger and larger scales of the human population that can be said to form a ‘family’. I will define this more fully in a minute.
We could summarize the dynamic polarity of the species will as manifesting as conservatism, tradition, the old guard, the system, the ruling party ‘versus’ the innovators, visionaries, anarchists, youth culture and social reformers.
Theoretically, in totality, the protagonists inadvertently work together to create an evolution that takes place at a rate of change that society as a whole can handle.
In real life it the messy and mysterious human drama we see before us.
Utilizing the basis of The Enchantments model we can see the growth of human membership from clan to tribe to warrior bands to early agrarian, theocratic states and city states such as Egypt and Sumer and in similar vein Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. Religions then expand the scale of community or belonging and then we see the rise of the city state-the country.
In modern times we see the dominance of the multinational corporation and the beginning of a global consciousness with membership belonging to those whom are fortunate enough to be successfully participating in the economic system (Orange Uranus Enchantment). The shadow of that membership is that it disavows a great many people, dividing the world into winners and losers. However it comes with the idealism that the economic model will inspire non members to compete and lift themselves up and in doing so effect a strengthening of human genes and society. The science underpinning this membership can be stated as natural selection or simplistically as ‘survival of the fittest’.
The next step in the model (Green Neptune Enchantment-more examples in the article below) suggest the increasing influence of ideological mind sets, humanitarian movements with their more liberal, egalitarian, pluralistic approaches. The membership of this more nebulous grouping being open to anyone from other levels who themselves are open and non dogmatic. This level of consciousness creates a greater awareness of the consequences of material progress and looks back at what has been passed over, in an attempt to encompass more people, more ideas, more spirituality in a much larger consensus. The shadow of this membership is a flattening of society and political correctness, the central axiom though is of fairness, sensitivity to others and the awakening of soul or deeper meaning.
So we can see there is both historical development of these levels and at the same time we see they all coexist in effect in the world today to some degree. What’s more as you work with this model you can recognize the dynamic adjustments that are created through the whole species through the interplay of the different ‘families’.
With the benefit of this overview see can recognize that each scale of membership- which is an increasingly complex intelligent entity- is part of an overall system-the human species.
This brings us to the next level of membership (Yellow Pluto Enchantment) one which has been seeded and is in the early stages of emergence, which is all humans. Each level is a level of consciousness inherent within us as well and the experiential awareness of this creates a more open spontaneous individually. Theoretically there is a lot less rigidity and an ability to adapt to the mutating environment. The challenge of this level is learning to live with greater uncertainty, as the certainties of religion, money or the belief is absolute authenticity falls away. The individual at this scale of membership has more detachment and can empathize with all others position to some degree. So without the usual certainties purpose, the will to live requires more attention however the potential to enjoy life and to express oneself much freer is greatly expanded.
Now if you have managed to read thus far you can see that the subject matter which is about sociology, psychology and consciousness can be a bit dry and if I start going into on a deep level it’s just too complex for people, especially with the newer levels. How much better would it be to have a video montage, set to different types of music, pulling in art, sport, history and futurism….we could make something truly viral, educational, benevolently anarchic and yet cool as shit…and hey why not highly profitable. You could steal the idea of course, but we will just make a better one… either way it’s a democratic winner for everyone.
The environment at present where the species scale is most readily accessible is the internet-theoretically heralding a benevolent anarchy of media by the people for the people. Where else does the creative outcast within us all have an opportunity to express our selves so effectively?
My intention is too see if we can create something that is released on the internet, maybe a film as discussed, that is fun and evocative that enhances and aligns with a freer global consciousness.
During our podcasts I think you will find us quite naturally talking about the challenges to this new level of consciousness which is comfortable with paradox and the different types of resistance it meets from conservatism, economic agendas and to a lesser extent political correctness.
You will also find us having a laugh, so tune in, drop in and join the reality activists.

Beige Earth Enchantment External Emphasis
Instinctive, survivalist, automatic reaction to the environment, animalistic, body wisdom. The human being as simply another component of the external natural world. No self-consciousness. On this level of reality, we are embedded in the intelligence of nature, which is still an unfathomable mystery for us today.
Purple Moon Enchantment Internal Emphasis
Internal environment awakens. Magical, tribal, mythic, ancestors, rituals, storytelling, inner child, innocence, Earth Goddess. Bicameral mind, possibly utilizing the right brain as an open door through which nature speaks via the agency of humanity. On this level of reality, we are embedded in the experience of Universal mystery.
Red Mars Enchantment External Emphasis
External awakening. Competing for supremacy, heroic principle, ego-driven instant gratification, life as a jungle, power through threat. Modern world: life on the streets. Sporting instincts, competition and extreme sports adventure. On this level of reality, we are striving to create a ‘self’, to separate from existence.
Blue Saturn Enchantment Internal Emphasis
Foundation of civilization, internal conscience, collective rules, social morality, structure, laws. Recorded history, which interprets and veils that which preceded it. The linear mind awakens; principles of absolute right and wrong, goodness, reward/punishment, work ethic; religion, guilt, order, authority, class, knowing one’s place, fixed gender roles, upright citizens.
Orange Uranus Enchantment External Emphasis
External marketplace, present social climate, media view, celebrity and corporate culture, status aware, opportunity and materially orientated, external appearances. Belief in supremacy of science, the winning way. Excitement, progress, cult of the individual, fun, detachment from guilt. On this level of reality, humanity has created the consensus world, seemingly separate from nature.
Green Neptune Enchantment Internal Emphasis
Internal emphasis. Feeling-based reality; intuitive, ideological, ecological; vegetarianism; alternative worldviews; seeks agreement, co-operative; spiritual mindsets; equalizing, especially racially and sexually; non-hierarchal; anti-authority, instead sensitive to peer-led ideals; searching for authenticity; experimentally spiritual.
Level Two
Yellow Pluto Enchantment External Emphasis
Interdependent; responsive, questioning; intuitive, open scientific methodology; species motivated; not attached to outcomes, spontaneous and systemic. Freedom, clarity and relevance put before status, money, ideology or approval. Appreciates diversity of opinion. The polychronic attention of younger generations,
e.g. simultaneously enjoying computers, interpersonal relating, listening to music and messaging.
Turquoise Chiron Enchantment Internal Emphasis
Awakening of a new consciousness that integrates human technological civilization with mysticism and primal magic, resulting in an ineffable global consciousness. Developed clear intuition able to perceive complex unified structures. Merging of inner and outer realities. The Earth’s Holosphere. Early expressions of this level include the concept of the Noosphere, the aesthetic union of science and religion.
Coral Pholus Enchantment External Emphasis
The questioning and re-appraisal of the whole context of reality (human beings, nature, time and space). Redefining spirituality/materialism, organic/inorganic, human/alien designations. Very early signs of this consciousness include the ‘create your reality’ meme, virtuality, game culture, genetics, robotics, nanotechnology, longevity. The reality of game-playing learner gods in an edgy mutable environment.
