Here it is!
Due to an unexpected failure of science we lost a bit at the beginning where we introduced ourselves. So this is Laurence James Lucas and Daniel Clarke talking about reality and, y'know, stuff...
(I will do podcast links and other fun stuff soon. I just thought it was best to get this up and available asap. - Daniel)

Hello Scott,
ReplyDeleteYes, let’s include you in some way when we do the podcast on money.
Two positions on money that I would like to consider when we do this edition is, firstly, the proposal that the ‘money game’ is completely rigged from the start and, secondly, the emergence of a completely new economic model.
The first position is expressed quite compellingly in the Zeitgeist films, in particular Zeitgeist Addendum, which claims quite emphatically that the Federal Reserve is a private organization that is scooping off the cream before the game begins.
Watch this for free on Google video here:

So my question is, to what degree is that true?
The second position is perhaps more empowering—and this is where the book by Matt Mason, The Pirate’s Dilemma, becomes relevant. Mason discusses the idea of open sourcing.
See his website for more information:

Then we have the futurist Jacque Fresco’s suggestion of a resource-based economy.
For more on his proposition, see these links:

The essence of the new economic models is based on the recognition that Life is truly abundant; existence is infinite and eternal—therefore without limits. In other words, in the totality of Life there is no shortage, so why compete?
With all these podcasts, I am looking to make the case that the truth of our human reality is multilevelled and therefore it is not a question of what’s wrong or what’s right, but rather to what degree is something right and which position has more truth or more relevance to us.
Here's something I just found...

yes I have seen a few video clips and read several articles by Ray Kurzweil and on him. His work to my mind is visionary but he is not aware of consciousness and therefore how reality is negotiated. His vision is half the picture, so its relevant and valid to a point.
ReplyDeleteAs a futurist he is an early game player of Coral Enchantment, but to this I would add Philip K Dick and the Matrix philosophy and then recognize the contrary Luddite impulse in humanity, which actually is necessary, otherwise we we would manifest the dystopian vision of an enslaved species.
Coral Pholus Enchantment External Emphasis
The questioning and re-appraisal of the whole context of reality (human beings, nature, time and space). Redefining spirituality/materialism, organic/inorganic, human/alien designations. Very early signs of this consciousness include the ‘create your reality’ meme, virtuality, game culture, genetics, robotics, nanotechnology, longevity. The reality of game-playing learner gods in an edgy mutable environment.
